What Customers Say About Stop Making Sense:

This film has all the esence and creativity of Talking Heads and I can't watch it enough. I have always loved Talking Heads since I first heard a bootleg of Psycho Killer from CBGB's. The entire sound track is on my iPhone and I listen to it frequently in my car.Check out my newest Thriller - Bound By Birth - by Randall R WheelerBound By Birth

A dvd Talking Heads fans must have in their collection and HIGHLY recommend to all music lovers. At very least rent it if you don't want to spend money because it'll make you feel good.

Well, it turned out to be a crazy dance party for one. No, I really didn't start to "get it" until recent years. I sang and whirled and screamed out accolades for great filming, harmonies, lighting and effects. I waited for this to be released on Netflix forever and don't regret a day of waiting. I have to purchase this now and it will become my most loved "dance video". This DVD is just phenomenol, though, and makes me grieve the years I wasn't a fan.I was ready to call it a night last night and decided to curl up on the couch w/ this flick instead.

It was absolutely breathtaking stuff from every angle. OMG. Yes I heard Talking Heads during their hayday. It was impossible to watch and listen without trying out all of David Byrne's great moves.

An absolutely visceral experience. The wide screen and re-mastered version is breathtaking. Stunning.

The entire show seemed to be just a showcase for David Byrne to putz around on stage. Some of the lighting effects seemed like updated versions of 60s psychedelic for the kids who weren't old enough to have seen it. I really liked the tempo of the original version - it had a grindingly soulful sound to it. I usually rate tunes by my impression the first time I listen to them or to a new arrangment. I wish I'd waited to hear it there first - I wouldn't have bought a copy. I'm an old musician, so I like to see the musicians more than the staging.

Speeding it up by about 30% was a mistake, and the tune lost the thing that made it what it originally was.I recently heard that one of our local PBS stations is going to air this concert DVD during a fundraiser. Most of the reviews have been raves. Not being a huge Talking Heads fan, I found many of the songs uneventful, and the stage effects a bit distracting. I was especially disappointed by the arrangement of "Take Me To The River".
